Generalized Knowledge Distillation for Unimodal Glioma Segmentation from Multimodal Models

چکیده
Gliomas, primary brain tumors arising from glial cells, can be effectively identified using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), a widely employed diagnostic tool in clinical settings. Accurate glioma segmentation, which is crucial for diagnosis and surgical intervention, achieved by integrating multiple MRI modalities that offer complementary information. However, limited access to certain contexts often results suboptimal performance of segmentation methods. This study introduces novel generalized knowledge distillation framework designed transfer multimodal teacher model unimodal student via two distinct strategies: graph cascade region attention distillation. The former enables the replicate teacher’s softened output, whereas latter facilitates extraction learning feature information at various levels within model. Our evaluation proposed strategies BraTS 2018 dataset confirms their superior compared with existing

متن کاملFrom Multimodal to Unimodal Webpages for Developing Countries
The multimodal web elements such as text and images are associated with inherent memory costs to store and transfer over the Internet. With the limited network connectivity in developing countries, webpage rendering gets delayed in the presence of high-memory demanding elements such as images (relative to text). To overcome this limitation, we propose a Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) base...
متن کاملGeneralized linear mixed models can detect unimodal species-environment relationships
Niche theory predicts that species occurrence and abundance show non-linear, unimodal relationships with respect to environmental gradients. Unimodal models, such as the Gaussian (logistic) model, are however more difficult to fit to data than linear ones, particularly in a multi-species context in ordination, with trait modulated response and when species phylogeny and species traits must be t...

Biometric recognition refers to an automatic recognition of individuals based on a feature vector(s) derived from their physiological and/or behavioral characteristic. Biometric recognition systems should provide a reliable personal recognition schemes to either confirm or determine the identity of an individual. These features are used to provide an authentication for computer based security s...
متن کاملAutomatic segmentation of glioma tumors from BraTS 2018 challenge dataset using a 2D U-Net network
Background: Glioma is the most common primary brain tumor, and early detection of tumors is important in the treatment planning for the patient. The precise segmentation of the tumor and intratumoral areas on the MRI by a radiologist is the first step in the diagnosis, which, in addition to the consuming time, can also receive different diagnoses from different physicians. The aim of this study...
